The Grand Canyon A highlight of the tour, today we visit one of the most famous and awe-inspiring natural wonders of the world - The Grand Canyon. The canyon is up to 29 kilometres wide and 1.6 kilometres deep, Arrive at the South Rim, which is the main viewpoint of the canyon, to take in dramatic vistas. Day 8. Grand Canyon Railway, Lake Havasu City This morning we board the Grand Canyon Railway, returning to the South Rim of one of the world’s most breathtaking natural wonders in a fully restored vintage carriage. After a short stop and some last-minute photo ‘opportunities, we make our way by coach to Lake Havasu for the night. Stay: Hampton Inn and Suites Lake Havasu City. Day 9. Los Angeles We travel by coach from Lake Havasu to Los Angeles for two nights. Enjoy a half-day guided tour and see iconic attractions such as the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and the TCL Chinese Theatre, home of the Academy Awards. After our tour we check into our hotel and your evening is free to explore this buzzing and glamorous metropolis. Stay: Hyatt Place Glendale Los Angeles. Day 10. Coastal Starlight, Monterey Free day to explore Los Angeles. Day 11. San Francisco Travel by Amtrak rail to Emeryville and experience the stunning landscape views of the West Coast. We then transfer by coach to our hotel in San Francisco Two nights: Hotel Zephyr. Day 12. San Francisco Start the day with a half-day tour of Golden Gate Bridge and Fisherman's Whart. The rest of the day and evening is free in San Francisco. You might like to jump on one of the cable cars and explore the food and drink scene or jump on a boat and sail across the bay taking in the stunning views of the area and visit the nearby island of Alcatraz Day 13.
