Day 6. Chur, Glacier Express, Brig Farewell Chur today and take the Glacier Express narrow-gauge train to Brig, enjoying incredible views through the panoramic windows of your carriage. Roll through the landscapes that have made Switzerland famous, passing sloping meadows, sprawling vineyards and lush forests, before crossing the iconic Landwasser Viaduct and into the Rhine Valley. A two-course lunch is served at your seat during your journey aboard the world’s slowest express train. Climbing steeply over the Oberalp Pass, we then spiral down before arriving in Brig. Four Nights: Brig, Hotel Ambassador. BLD Day 7. Brig, Zermatt Today will be spent discovering the charming, car-free resort town of Zermatt. Board a train in Brig and head south along the River Rhéne to Visp where our ascent to Zermatt begins. While here, we visit the Air Zermatt Heliport, where we are given a behind-the-scenes look at the role the crew play in rescue operations in this alpine region. Afterwards, enjoy time at leisure in Zermatt. You may like to reach the summit of the Gornergrat aboard the Gornergrat Mountain Railway, enjoying spectacular views of the Matterhorn. Later, return to Brig for dinner at your hotel. Brig Board a cable car and climb to the Eggishorn Viewpoint. Here, we will meet a yodel guide to learn about the history of yodelling and witness a demonstration. Then, explore Brig at your own pace. You might like to explore the town's historic old quarter, or use your Swiss Travel Pass to explore further afield The card allows discounted fares on most trains, buses and lake steamers. Perhaps take a journey through the ‘hundred valleys’ on the Centovalli Railway. Alternatively, travel through the Rhéne Valley to Montreaux on the shores of Lake Geneva. From here, you can join the GoldenPass Line panoramic train for a trip to the glamorous resort of Gstaad B Day 9. Spiez Travel to Spiez Castle, in the town of Spiez, overlooking the waters of Lake Thun. A Swiss heritage site dating as far back as the 10th century, this impressive castle and its decorative gardens play host as you wander its halls and enjoy a wine tasting on the terrace. Afterwards, cruise across the lake to Thun, before returning to Brig for a Farewell Dinner. BD Day 10.
