Journey by road to Andasibe and stay two nights at Andasibe Hotel. Experience a night walk to observe lemurs and other nocturnal animals. (B) This morning visit Andasibe National Park to see the Indri Indri, the largest lemurs on the island. In the afternoon visit a local community reserve which provides a sustainable way of saving the remaining rainforests in the area. (B) Drive back to Tana, and head south to Antsirabe, across the highland landscape with its beautiful rice fields on display. Overnight at the Royal Palace Hotel. (B) Drive to Ambositra, the centre of Madagascar’s wood carving industry. Continue to Ranomafana National Park and stay two nights at Setam Lodge. (B) With its rainforest covered hills and abundant wildlife, Ranomafana has long been considered one of Madagascar's highlights. Walk in the National Park in search of lemurs and chameleons. (B) Today drive via Fianarantsoa to Ambalavao. Continue to Ihosy the capital of the Bara tribes, and on to Isalo for two nights at Isalo Rock Lodge. Walk to a natural swimming pool and continue to the massif. Along the way, there may be sifakas, brown lemurs and ring-tailed lemurs. (B) After breakfast start the drive to Ifaty visiting Toliara enroute. Situated in the deep south, the landscape is dominated by the cactus-like spiny forest. Arrive in Ifaty for a two night stay at Le Paradisier. (B) A day at leisure to relax on the beach or take advantage of one of the many optional excursions available (at own expense). Ifaty is protected by a large coral reef, making it an ideal place for diving and snorkeling. From July to mid-September, encounter the whale migration with an optional boat trip. (B) Early morning transfer to the airport for flight back to Tana (flight cost not included) and overnight at the Palissandre Hotel. This afternoon is free to explore the nation’s capital and enjoy some sightseeing. (B) Transfer to the airport for departing flight and end of safari.
