Day 04: West Bank, Valley of the Kings, Esna Today's exciting adventures will see you delve deep into Egyptology. Later, visit the magnificent memorial temple of Medinet Habu and the massive stone statue the Colossus of Memnon. This afternoon, enjoy time to relax as your ship sails on to the ancient city of Esna, crossing the Esna lock. BLD Day 05: Edfu, Kom Ombo Visit the stunning Temple of Edfu, dedicated to Horus the falcon god, which is regarded as the best-preserved temple of the ancient world, and the twin temples of Kom Ombo shared by the gods Sobek and Horus. Later, relax as you please aboard your luxury river ship as the beautiful scenery passes by. BLD Egypt, Jordan & Israel 2023/24 Day 06: Aswan Visit the Aswan High Dam, the biggest in Egypt. Later, immerse yourself back in ancient times on the charming island of Agilika where you pay homage to the Goddess Isis at the relocated Philae Temple. BLD Day 07: Disembark Ship, Aswan Your Nile cruise draws to a close this morning, docking in the laid-back southern city of Aswan. Here the river is dotted with picturesque islands, in particular Kitchener's Island on the eastern bank, home to the Aswan Botanical Garden. Tonight’s accommodation is the legendary Old Cataract Hotel, a restored 19th-century Victorian Palace, set between the pink granite of the edge of the desert and a magnificent blue expanse of the Nile. BL Stay: Aswan, Sofitel Old Cataract Hotel. Day 08: Abu Simbel, Cairo Fly to the desert town of Abu Simbel. Here you'll discover the World Heritage-listed temples dedicated to Ramesses II and Nefertari, which date back to the 13th century BC.
