Glossary Clarifying the intricacies of an APT Kimberley & Outback Wilderness Adventure. Adaptors & Electricity On 4WD land adventures, our wilderness lodges generate their own power. Each lodge can assist in charging items such as cameras in central dining areas. On board both the MS Caledonian Sky and Le Laperouse voltage is 110V (American standard) and a 22O0V razor socket which is only suitable for low voltage electrical appliances e.g. mobile phones and camera chargers. We recommend you bring a two-pin American adaptor for the T10V plug. b Beverages A selection of alcoholic beverages is included at your discretion aboard the MS Caledonian Sky and Le Laperouse. Most lodges and hotels in the Kimberley are licensed to sell alcohol. They stock a limited range of alcoholic beverages for purchase, allowing you to enjoy an evening drink (for guests over 18 years of age). Guests cannot bring their own alcohol. Alcohol is not permitted in some areas visited. c Currency Australian dollars (AUD) are used on all Remote Journeys and on board the MS Caledonian Sky for cruises. Euro is the currency aboard Le Laperouse. Settlement of shipboard accounts are accepted with American Express, Visa, MasterCard. d Dining On our 4WD land adventures, there's nothing standard about the meals. Enjoy breakfast with hot and cold options; grab a packed lunch before you head out for the day, then savour a chef-prepared three-course dinner each evening. All meals are included on board your cruise, including morning and afternoon tea. Both MS Caledonian Sky and Le Laperouse have indoor and outdoor dining venues. Should you have any special dietary requirements, you must advise these at the time of booking. Expedition Cruises are active and involve regular use of Zodiac vessels. These cruises feature a taste of exploration and adventure with an expedition team including naturalists, marine biologists, historians, geologists and photographers. A sense of adventure is required to take advantage of opportunities as they occur to enhance your cruise. h Health & Fitness As Kimberley and Outback Wilderness Adventure tours visit remote areas and feature activities with varying degrees of difficulty, it is vital to select a tour with an activity level suited to your health and fitness. A good level of fitness is essential for you to undertake walks in hot conditions and over terrain with uneven and slippery surfaces. Some walks will require you to clamber over boulders up to one-metre high. The nature of expedition cruising requires regular embarkation/ disembarkation of Zodiacs for shore access, as well as wet landings on remote beaches, where footwear will get wet. Guests must be able to climb ramps and step in and out of smaller vessels. There are lifts aboard both the MS Caledonian Sky and Le Laperouse which service all decks. Walking frames are not permitted on tour. It is your responsibility to carry any medication (which may require a cooler bag). Consult your local medical practitioner for any health advice. Internet & Wi-Fi In the Kimberley and parts of the outback, mobile phone service is extremely limited and only available in major centres. Wi-Fi internet is available at all of our wilderness lodges, and is also available at other resorts/hotels at a cost. Wi-Fi internet is included on board the MS Caledonian Sky and Le Laperouse however it is not guaranteed.
