Day 1. Depart Australia Day 2. Arrive Seoul Welcome to South Korea, a country rich in history, with varied landscapes and an abundance of unique experiences. The country's vibrant capital, Seoul, is where traditional past mixes with the modern present. Get to know the city this afternoon before a group welcome dinner tonight. Day 3. Seoul We'll experience old and new Seoul today, beginning with a visit to the beautiful Gyeongbokgung Palace. Here we witness the changing of the guard ceremony. Next, we visit Bukchon Hanok Village this morning. % earn all about Korea's fascinating cuisine ata kimchi making experience, South Korea's staple side dish made from fermented vegetables. Later, we'll visit the observation deck of Seoul's N Tower. Day 4. Seoul - Suwon - Jeonju We make our way to Suwon to visit the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Suwon Hwaseong Fortress. Upon arrival in Jeonju, we will step back in time during a tour of the Jeonju Hanok Village, made up of over 800 traditional Korean houses. Enjoy an evening at leisure. Day 5. Jeonju- Gwangju @ “B This morning we'll venture south to Mt. Maisan and Tapsa Temple en route to Gwangju. Next we'll visit the nearby town of Jinan-gun to learn about spas, and how they are a very important part of life in Korea. te Enjoy a traditional spa experience and try the unique array of facilities and treatments, including ‘bubble sense therapy’ and ‘sound floating’ This afternoon, before arriving in Gwangju, we'll visit the Juknokwon Bamboo Garden. Day 6. Gwangju BL We travel into the surrounding moutains this morning to witness the gorgeous scenery of Mudeungsan National Park. Riding the park's monorail we'll enjoy incredible vistas before lunch at a local Gwangju restaurant. This afternoon we'll delve into the traditional cultures of South Korea at the Gwangju Traditional Cultural Centre. Here, we'll witness a performance of traditional Korean music, have the chance to try on the Hanbok — the traditional Korean dress — and learn about. customary etiquette. Day 7. Gwangju - Suncheon - Yeosu Along the way to Yeosu today we'll stop at Suncheon to visit the Naganeupseong Folk Village. Surrounded by Joseon-period fortress walls, the village is Korea's best-preserved fortress town with traditional houses lining the narrow alleyways. We'll also visit the Suncheonman Bay Wetland reserve and cruise along the water to spot the local birdlife. he '7 Yeosu, be mesmerised by the bright lights and fountains of the evening Big O Show. Day 8. Yeosu - Busan @ We'll visit Yeosu’s Odongdo Island this morning to take in the natural beauty of the island's 70 species of wildflowers. Next, we'll drive to Busan and get acquainted with the city during sightseeing this afternoon. We'll see Igidae Park and step out on the Oryukdo Skywalk before visiting the UN Memorial Cemetery which honours the lives of soldiers and UN aids lost during the Korean War in the 1950s. ™“D *B *%B *B Day 9. Busan - Gyeongju - Busan “’B hy At the Bulguksa Temple, relish the experience of a tea ceremony with monks. Just a short distance away is our next stop, the Seokguram Grotto. This afternoon, we'll also explore Chomsungdae Observatory, and visit the Daereungwon Tomb Complex before returning to Busan. Day 10. Busan - Seoul *B Enjoy some time to yourself this morning to explore Busan's bustling local markets, Kukje and Jagalchi fish market. Afterwards we'll board the high-speed train to Seoul. Tonight, we'll enjoy a Nanta Show. Nanta is a non- verbal comedy show and a popular way to spend an evening in South Korea. Day 11. Seoul We'll spend the morning exploring the Demilitarised Zone separating North and South Korea. We visit Freedom Bridge at Imjingak Village, board the monorail through the 3rd infiltration tunnel, and see the DMZ Exhibition Area. Our tour continues at the Dora Observatory and Dorasan Station, which will allow us to look into North Korea and the village of Kijéng-dong. Enjoy the afternoon at leisure. Tonight we'll enjoy a group farewell dinner, accompanied by a traditional Korean performance. Day 12. Depart Seoul Today marks the end of our incredible discovery of South Korea. Day 13.
