Casablanca - Essaouira This morning we depart for Essaouira, a charming town on Morocco's Atlantic coast that was once the old Portuguese city of Mogador. Day 5. Essaouira “B We'll begin our day of sightseeing at the city’s port to experience the lively atmosphere as the boats come in and fish are sold. We'll then discover the ‘Door of the Navy’, Moulay el- Hassan Place, and wander through the town's colourful kasbah. Day 6. Essaouira - Marrakesh Travelling inland, we make our way to the magical ‘Rose City’ of Marrakesh. After an orientation tour, enjoy the rest of the day at leisure. We experience the atmosphere of Marrakesh’s main square, Jemaa el-Fnaa, as we pass through a wondrous mix of food, music and entertainment, getting a taste of this fantastic city. Day 7. Marrakesh *B Marrakesh is the real heartbeat of Morocco and we'll enjoy a full day of sightseeing, including a visit to the Saadian Tombs, the Koutoubia Mosque, Bahia Palace and Majorelle Gardens. Day 8. Marrakesh «BL ‘te We'll take a cooking lesson in a beautiful Moroccan riad, then enjoy the food we've prepared for lunch. This afternoon is at leisure to explore at your own pace. Day 9. Marrakesh - Skoura “BD We travel through the High Atlas Mountains along the twisting Tizi n'Tichka pass. En route to Skoura we stop in the picturesque fortified Berber village or ‘ksar’ of Ait Ben Haddou. This afternoon we'll make the short trip to Ouarzazate to visit the Taourirt Kasbah before continuing to the oasis town BD ¥B “BD of Skoura. @ 2nights: Moroccan guest house Day 10. Skoura “BD This morning we visit the palm groves and Kasbah Amridil. After lunch we'll take part in a traditional calligraphy workshop with a local artisan using the typical reed pen Day 11. Skoura - Merzouga “BD We depart Skoura through the Dades Valley ‘on our way to Merzouga. Our accommodation for the next two nights is a traditional Moroccan Kasbah! @ 2nights: Traditional kasbah Day 12. Merzouga BLD te Experience a breathtaking sunrise over the endless dunes of the Sahara Desert. After breakfast, we travel by 4WDs to a nearby village to enjoy the local Gnaoua music over tea. We'll then visit the traditional artists’ town of Tissardmine for lunch amongst the palms. Day 13. Merzouga - Fez “BLD We cross over the Middle Atlas Mountains on ‘our way to Fez. Along the way we'll visit the market town of Midelt and have lunch at a local restaurant. Day 14. Fez “B Considered the cultural and religious centre of Morocco, Fez is a window to the Middle Ages. We'll explore the narrow, cobbled lanes and covered souks of the medina, visit the Madressa and famous tannery, and see the Kairaouine Mosque. Day 15. Meknes & Volubilis Excursion “B Head north to Meknes this morning to tour the old city known as the ‘Versailles of Morocco’, Next continue to the ancient archaeological site of Volubilis to see the impressive Roman ruins and preserved mosaics. Day 16. Fez - Chefchaouen This morning we make our way to Chefchaouen, undoubtedly one of the prettiest cities in Morocco, washed with hundreds of shades of blue. !" Morocco, many neighbourhoods have communal oven where the local women bring their dough to bake bread. We'll learn how this traditional bread is made in a demonstration. Day 17. Chefchaouen @ This morning we'll explore Chefchaouen’s picturesque streets on foot on a city tour. Walk the short trail uphill towards a stunning lookout point over the town and surrounding mountains. Day 18. Chefchaouen - Rabat We make our way to Rabat this morning and enjoy a city tour visiting the Kasbah of Oudayas, the medina, Mohamed V “BD *B “BD Mausoleum and the iconic Hassan Tower. Tonight we'll enjoy a group farewell dinner. Day 19. Rabat - Depart Casablanca Today we begin our journey home. Day 20.
