f Freedom of Choice Inclusions Freedom of Choice Inclusions are included on APT holidays as indicated throughout itineraries. Minimum and maximum group numbers may apply on some activities. Due to poor weather and/or venue closures on some dates, some options may not be available as listed. For your convenience, all options will be booked while on tour with your APT cruise or tour director. They will be able to provide you with further information. If your first choice of option is unavailable, you may be asked to choose an alternative. g Gratuities Gratuities are included for all cruise and tour directors, cruise staff, local guides and drivers on all APT holidays. Gratuities cannot be redeemed for a cash refund. h Hotels The official check-in time at hotels in Europe is 3pm local time but where possible, the hotel will try to have your room available earlier. If your flight arrives in the morning, luggage can be dropped off at the hotel before check-in and delivered to your room later. You will be required to present a credit card upon check-in to cover incidentals. If you do not have a credit card, a monetary deposit in local currency may be required. Amounts differ for each hotel. Normal check-out times vary, but are usually at 1am or noon. If you have a late afternoon or evening flight, most hotels have a luggage room where you can store your luggage until you depart for the airport. Please note that some hotels have a shower over the bath. Housekeeping On board your cruise, our housekeeping staff will attend to your suite twice daily - once during the day and again with a turndown service in the evening. Reception can be contacted 24 hours a day for any additional housekeeping requests. Infotainment System All staterooms and suites on our European ships feature a flat-screen television with English-language programs, box office movies, classic films and the ship's information channel. Internet & Wi-fi All ships offer wi-fi in staterooms, suites and public areas. Remember to take all log-ins and passwords with you to enjoy easy access to your favourite websites. As all ships use a satellite system, routing may cause reception to be restricted at times. Connection speeds are slower than on shore. There are no printers available on our ships. Complimentary wi-fi internet is available in many hotel guest rooms. When such a service is not available, complimentary wi-fi internet is generally available in public areas of most hotels. Complimentary wi-fi internet is also provided on board our coaches, with the exception of Grand City Stays. Wi-fi internet on the coaches uses a satellite system and as a result, the connection will be slower than standard broadband and at times may not be available. Language The official language used by APT staff worldwide is English. All staff, crew and local guides speak English throughout Europe. For your convenience, all guided tours, announcements and lectures will be presented in English. Laundry Laundry services are available on board and price lists will be available in your suite. Clothes cannot be dry-cleaned on board river and ocean ships. Self-service laundry facilities are also not available. For safety reasons, it is not permitted to use an iron in your suite. In select suites on APT Europe River Cruises, we offer a complimentary laundry service (see Butler, Laundry & Room Service). Library Our ships have a collection of books and games available for guests to borrow free of charge. Lounge All ships feature a large, comfortably furnished main lounge which serves as a gathering place for port talks, lectures and entertainment. The bar and self-service tea and coffee station are located here. Luggage As a general rule, airlines permit passengers in economy class to take one piece of luggage that does not exceed 160cm (63 inches), or weigh more than 20kg (44 pounds). We advise you to contact your airline carrier or travel agent for specific information prior to departure, as size and weight limitations may vary and are subject to change. Each passenger is entitled to take one piece of luggage on your tour that does not exceed the above specifications. Please limit your hand luggage to one bag that fits under your aircraft seat or in the overhead compartment. m Maps Maps within are indicative only and are not to scale. Medical Medical services are not available on our river ships as there are no medical personnel on board. Medical services can be called from shore, as ships are usually close to a town. Should personal medication require refrigeration, it can be stored in the ship's galley. p Physical Fitness APT cruises and tours are not physically demanding, however because of the nature of many of the sites you will be visiting, some tours will require a good level of fitness and health to participate. Some trips may not be appropriate for guests with certain medical conditions and physical restrictions. Walking tours are often on uneven ground (such as cobblestones) and may include stairs as well as steep inclines. You should be able to stand on your feet for an extended period of time to visit museums, attractions and other sites, as well as when checking in for flights and cruises and at Customs and Immigration. 100 The Details APT
