Our sightseeing highlights include the Presidential Palace, the beautiful Temple of Literature and Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum. Day 4. Hanoi - Halong Bay “BLD We'll rise early this morning to discover Hanoi as the city awakens. We'll visit the flower market, the Old Quarter, Hoan Kiem Lake and finish our tour with a Vietnamese breakfast and coffee. Next, we'll travel through the Hai Hong Province to breathtaking Halong Bay, dotted with thousands of limestone islands and outcrops. 4 Embark Cruise: We'll board our cruise boat and enjoy an authentic Vietnamese lunch as the boat sails towards the southeast of the bay. @ Inight: Vietnamese cruise boat Day 5. Halong Bay - Danang - Hoi An “B This morning you might like to take part ina tai chi lesson on the sundeck or just sit back and relax as we cruise the waters and islets of this UNESCO World Heritage-listed site. Next, we'll explore the floating fishing village of Vung Vieng. 4@ Disembark Cruise: After enjoying brunch back on board, we'll disembark and return to Hanoi, before flying to Danang and transferring to Hoi An. Day 6. Hoi An We begin the day with a walking tour of charming Hoi An. Highlights include the Culture & History Museum, the Chinese Assembly Hall of Fujien Chinese Community and the Japanese Bridge. * Visit a colourful local market before taking a short cruise along the Hoi An River to the secluded Red Bridge Cooking School for an aromatic and informative cooking class. Day 7.Hoi An “B Hoi An's centre is a UNESCO World Heritage- listed site, free from cars and a lovely area to explore on foot. Today is at leisure for you to enjoy this picturesque town at your own pace. Day 8. Hoi An - Danang - Saigon “BD This morning we fly to Saigon, known as Ho. Chi Minh City. he Discover Saigon at night on a foodie tour by jeep. Pass by iconic sites including the Opera House, City Hall and Post Office. Taste authentic Vietnamese cuisine as the locals do. Day 9. Saigon @ “B Today we'll enjoy a half day tour of Saigon. Our first stop is the iconic Pittman Apartments, before visiting the Notre Dame Cathedral, Central Post Office and US Consulate (former US Embassy) by foot. We'll then visit the moving War Remnants Museum and the Presidential Palace, which encapsulates a 1975 vibe. We also explore the monument dedicated to Thich Quang Duc, infamously “BD known as the ‘Burning Monk’, and Saigon Ranger Armour museum. We'll lunch at the notable Pho Binh restaurant, recognised as the base of the former secret headquarters of the elite Viet Cong unit Day 10. Mekong Delta Excursion @ BL We explore the Ben Tre province in the Mekong region today by xe loi. Travelling along the tributaries and narrow canals in a traditional- style cruise boat, we can observe daily life along the banks. We'll stop at a family-owned coconut processing business and a brick making factory. We'll then cycle to a local rice noodle factory before enjoying lunch. Our cycling excursion then continues, as we visit Mr Sau Tuong, a former Viet Cong soldier who spent two years fighting the Khmer Rouge in Phnom Penh. Day 11. Saigon “BLD Early this morning we'll travel by boat to the fascinating Cu Chi Tunnels for a tour with a veteran guide. This network of tunnels served as a base for the Viet Cong and remained undiscovered during the Vietnam War. This evening we'll farewell Vietnam with a group dinner. Day 12. Saigon - Siem Reap “BD Today we'll fly to Siem Reap in Cambodia, gateway to the incredible temples of Angkor. Tonight we'll travel by tuk tuk to dinner at a local restaurant serving typical Khmer dishes. Day 13. Siem Reap BL The first half of today is spent in Angkor, visiting the ancient fortified city of Angkor Thom, the Terraces of the Elephants and the Leper King. We'll also visit the temples of Baphuon and Phimeanakas before cruising Tonlé Sap Lake, the largest freshwater lake in Southeast Asia. We'll observe life and see the colourful floating villages, before returning to Siem Reap. Day14.SiemReap @ Angkor Wat, the crowing jewel of Khmer architecture is our destination today. Wtiness the largest, best preserved and most religiously significant of all the Angkor temples, as we explore these majestic grounds. te Experience a monk's blessing at an ancient pagoda, and learn more about Buddhism and the local spiritual beliefs. Ta Prohm, known as the ‘Tomb Raider’ temple is our next sight, before we farewell Cambodia with a group dinner. “BLD Day 15. Depart Siem Reap % This morning is at leisure before we begin our journey home this afternoon. Day 16.
