Overnight - Colombo. Day 2 Today we discover the incredible Dambulla cave temple. The five caves contain over 150 images and statues of Buddha. Continue to the striking Sigiriya rock fortress, surrounded by lush jungle. The fortress can be seen for miles around. Overnight - Dambulla. Day 3 Explore ancient Polonnaruwa this morning including the Royal Palace and Gal Vihara. Take a jeep ride and a canoe to Kayanwala for a cookery demonstration and stop at a spice garden in Matale en route to Kandy. Overnight - Kandy. Day 4 Enjoya sightseeing tour of Kandy including the Temple of the Tooth and Geragama tea factory. 7 breakfasts and 1 lunch 7 nights 4-5% and heritage hotels Return airport transfers on days 1 and 8 + Game drive in Udawalawe NP + Canoe, train and tuk-tuk trips + Escorted by an English-speaking Sri Lankan tour guide with guided sightseeing as per itinerary All transportation in private air-conditioned vehicles We also visit a gem museum and enjoy a tuk-tuk ride in the surrounding hills. Look out for wild animals including elephants, leopards and sloth bears as we explore. Overnight - Udawalawe NP. Days 7 & 8 On the morning of day 7 we visit a gem mine at Ratnapura en route to Colombo. Enjoy a tour of the city including Gangaramaya Temple and Galle Face Green. Our tour ends on day 8 (Saturday) with an airport transfer. Overnight - Colombo (1).
