Glossary Clarifying the intricacies of a journey to Europe with APT. Adaptors & Electricity Electricity is 220V on board our river ships throughout Europe, along with the MV Lady Eleganza and L‘Austral. The electrical outlets on the MS Hebridean Sky is 110V. A European plug adaptor is necessary for appliances from home. The use of personal hairdryers (there is a hairdryer in your suite), clothing irons, curling tongs, etc. in your cabin is strictly forbidden as they may damage the ships’ electrical system. Outlets are able to charge items such as phones, tablets and camera batteries. Allergies If you have a food allergy or another condition that needs to be managed on tour, please advise your booking agent as soon as possible, as most suppliers require advance notice to accommodate this. In some cases you might be asked to fill out a form or waiver. Air Conditioning & Heating All suites on board our ships have individual climate control. Audio Guides Each guest will have an audio headset on tour. During excursions, these lightweight headsets allow you to hear every word of your local guide’s commentary. On board your river ship, this device also delivers commentary on the places you're cruising past. b Bedding Configuration All suites on all river ships and hotel accommodation can be configured as either double or twin share. Some suites on the MV Lady Eleganza, MS Hebridean Sky and L'Austral cannot be configured as twin share. Your preference will be noted at the time of booking. Beverages Aboard your cruise, coffee and tea are available free of charge throughout the day and during meals. Water is provided and replenished each day. For guests travelling on APT river, luxury yacht and small ship expedition cruises, a selection of complimentary alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages are available all day throughout your cruise. French Champagne and premium spirits are offered at an additional cost. During your land journey, complimentary water, tea and coffee are offered during included meals, as well as a complimentary alcoholic beverage with your dinner. Bicycles Our river ships, are equipped with bicycles that are free to borrow on request. Several also store electronic bikes on board. Guided bicycle tours operate between mid-April and October. We provide helmets for your safety.
