Discover winter wonderlands across the Land of the Long White Cloud. New Zealand ski fields are among some of the best in the Southern Hemisphere, and are located within magnificent settings. Plus, they're close to other adrenalin-pumping or nature-based activities, perfect for off-slope time. Queenstown is the perfect base for accessing Coronet Peak and The Remarkables ski areas ~ each being less than an hour out of town. In the same region, Wanaka is the perfect launching pad to access both Cardrona and Treble Cone. Both cities and all the mountains have excellent facilities, including restaurants and family facilities. Further north, accessed best via Christchurch, the largest city in the South Island, is Mt Hutt. It’s one of the largest and highest ski areas in the South Island with expansive vistas of the Canterbury Plains and Southern Alps. Not limited to the South Island, the North Island boasts its own ski fields on the imposing Mt Ruapehu.
