Upon arrival in Jeonju, we tour the Jeonju Hanok Village. Day 5. Jeonju - Gwangju “B This morning we'll venture@uth to Mt. Maisan and Tapsa Temple en route to Gwangju. he Enjoy a traditional spa experience and try the unique array of facilities and treatments, including ‘bubble sense therapy’ and ‘sound floating’. This afternoon, before arriving in Gwangju, we'll visit the Juknokwon Bamboo Garden. Day 6. Gwangju BL We travel into the surrounding mountain area this morning to witness the natural beauty of Mudeungsan National Park. This afternoon we'll delve into the ancient customs of South Korea during a visit to the Gwangju Traditional Cultural Centre. Day 7. Gwangju - Suncheon - Yeosu *B Along the way to Yeosu we'll stop at Suncheon to visit the Naganeupseong Folk Village, before cruising along the wetland reserve. In Yeosu, be mesmerised by the bright lights and fountains of the evening Big O Show. Day 8. Yeosu- Busan We'll visit Yeosu’s Odor€do Island this morning to take in the natural beauty of the island's 70 species of wildflowers. Next, we'll drive to Busan to get acquainted with the city during sightseeing this afternoon, including stepping out on the Oryukdo Skywalk. Day 9. Busan - Gyeongju - Busan At the Bulguksa Temple, relish the experience of a tea ceremony with monks. After viewing the Seokguram Grotto, our afternoon is spent exploring Chomsungdae Observatory and the intriguing Daereungwon Tomb Complex. Day 10. Busan - Seoul Enjoy a morning at leisure in Busan before boarding the high-speed train to Seoul. Experience a traditional Nanta show tonight. Day 11. Seoul BD We'll spend the morning exploring the Demilitarised Zone separating North and South Korea. Enjoy your afternoon at leisure. Our group dinner is accompanied by a traditional Korean performance tonight. Day 12. Seoul - Tokyo “B We fly to Tokyo, Japan's dazzling capital! Day 13. Tokyo BLD We begin today with a visit to the scenic and spacious Imperial Palace East Garden. Watch a sumo wrestling demonstration before enjoying a traditional Chanko Nabe (sumo stew) lunch at a local restaurant. Experience the hustle and bustle of Shibuya, including the famous Shibuya crossing. We take to Tokyo Bay and admire the city lights ona dinner cruise this evening in a typical “~B “~B “BB Japanese-style houseboat. Day 14. Tokyo SeBL Today we'll explore Asakusa Sens6-ji Temple. This Buddhist temple is one of Tokyo's most colourful and popular. Find a souvenir at Nakamise-dori shopping street. We'll then learn the age-old culinary art of making sushi and enjoy the results for lunch. Day 15. Tokyo - Hakone o Travel to the mountainous town of Hakone, and enjoy a cable car ride to see incredible views of Mt Fuji (weather permitting). Tonight we stay in an authentic ryokan guesthouse, sleeping on traditional Japanese-style bedding made up of a futon bed on top of tatami mats on the floor. @ Inight: traditional ryokan guesthouse Day 16. Hakone-Matsumoto-Nagano ™~B Travelling to Matsumoto today, we'll visit one of Japan's premier historic castles. te !mmerse yourself in Japanese culture during a soba noodle class on our way to Nagano. These delicious noodles are used ina variety of Japanese dishes. Next, we'll visit the historic Old Battlefield of Kawanakajima. Day 17. Nagano - Takayama “B Arriving at the historic town of Takayama, we'll explore the narrow streets on foot. Highlights include Takayama Jinya, a traditional Japanese building dating back to 1816, and the Sanmachi Suji District. Day 18. Takayama - Shirakawago - Gokayama - Takayama We visit the Miyagawa Open Air Market this morning before making our way to the UNESCO World Heritage-listed site of Shirakawa-go. This afternoon we discover the traditional art of Japanese Washi papermaking in Gokayama. Day 29. Takayama - Kyoto Travelling by bullet train, we head to Kyoto. te Sample the famous Japanese beverage, sake, and learn about the brewing process. We'll also explore the incredible tunnel of orange Torii Gates that make up Kyoto's famous Fushimi Inari Shrine, dedicated to the god of rice and sake in the 8th century. Day 20. Kyoto “B Uncover more of historic Kyoto today starting with a morning walk along Philosopher's Path hy Delve into the stunning art form of Japanese black ink calligraphy and try your hand at perfecting this ancient art. Next, we'll experience a Japanese tea ceremony before spending the remainder of the day at our leisure. Day 21. Kyoto ™“B Today is at leisure to discover more of Kyoto. Day 22. Kyoto - Hiroshima BL Visit the stunning Kinkaku-ji Temple (Golden Pavilion) and enjoy a typical Buddhist lunch before touring the Tenryu-ji Temple. Next, we'll walk through the Arashiyama Bamboo Forest and visit the Togetsukyo Bridge before travelling to Hiroshima by bullet train, Day 23. Hiroshima - Miyajima - Hiroshima Cruise to tranquil and sacred Miyajima Island today, to view the giant Itsukushima Torii Gate. Later, we'll visit some of Hiroshima's important sites, including Peace Memorial Park, the Atomic Bomb Dome, and the very moving Peace Memorial Museum Day 24. Hiroshima - Osaka “BD We'll travel by bullet train towards Osaka and BL “’B %B visit Himeji Castle, Japan's largest castle. hy Learn the way of the Samurai, the warriors of pre-modern Japan, during an interactive lesson.
