PULL UP FLOORING Some floating floors are installed using a click-and-lock system, which is simple to take up and keeps the boards intact. But a tongue-and-groove system is not designed to come apart and requires more elbow grease. 1 Lift a section of boards with a pry bar to loosen them from any nails into the subfloor. 2Use a club hammer to tap a heavy-duty chisel along the join at 45 degrees to separate the boards, then pull it away. Tip: Remove and dispose of nails as you go with the hooked end of the pry bar.
